Our Team
Meet our Hidden Violets team! Composed of people with a range of experiences and passions, we all have the same central goal: Bring Hidden Violets to life.
Director/Writer
Chloe Nolan
she/her
Chloe is so proud to be working on this film and to be bringing people like herself and her friends onto a screen. After writing a novel, she has written and directed her own psychological thriller/drama short film in the past and has assisted in writing and directing three other shorts across various genres. Currently, she is a Cinema and Media Studies major at the University of Washington and the lead intern of the Seattle Jewish Film Festival. In the future, she wants to aid in the re-emerging Seattle film scene and continue making films on a greater scale that center stories of women and the LGBTQ+ community.
1st AD/Storyboard Artist
Zoey Marshall
she/her
Zoey has always loved storytelling in all its forms. Writing and art are two of her passions, and she's always looking for places where story and visuals intersect and bring out the most in each other- an action that is especially present in comics and film. She is excited to be involved with projects like this one because not only does she get to experience the artistic process of storyboard and bringing script to screen, but it is also a story personally significant to her as a part of the LGBTQ+ community. She can see that it is also really important to other members of the crew as well, and it feels pretty special. In the future she hopes to continue making films and other stories like this one and meeting others that share the same passions as her!
Producer/Social Media Manager
Jada Godwin
they/them
Jada Godwin is a Seattle-based videographer and journalist with a love of narrative film. Most recently they shot the documentary BERTHA BABY, which focuses on a non-binary drag queen finding community after escaping their childhood Christian cult, and several narrative short films with LUX, UW’s filmmaking club. It was there that they were approached by Chloe Nolan to produce this film, and also where many members of this crew were discovered. An officer of LUX’s operations department, videographer with UW’s The Daily, and Filmmaker Liaison for the Walla Walla Movie Crush, Jada has made it their mission to meet the people in the industry they hope to drag into their projects in the future. Currently they are working on writing a limited series featuring two queer siblings and co-writing a short narrative film for the upcoming LUX production quarter.
Producer
Kathy Do
she/her
Kathy Do is a filmmaker based in Seattle, Washington, focused on producing and screenwriting. She's had experience producing short films in conjunction with LUX Film Production Club and is now a presiding officer for the upcoming year. She spent her summer interning at Zeta-Maya Entertainment in prep for their upcoming feature film. Kathy's commitment to filmmaking stems from her passion for creating stories that explore the human experience, and she's excited for Hidden Violets to exemplify queer voices behind and in front of the camera.
Script Supervisor
Robi Robinson
they/them
Robi is an aspiring filmmaker and storyteller from New York. They are working as a script supervisor on this production and are very excited because they love words. Robi strives to make queer films that bring our community together and make their younger self feel proud. Robi loves being outside, purple and green, Ben Platt, The Seattle Storm, and cooking breakfast. After Robi becomes a very famous person, they hope to own a farm with a cow.
Script Supervisor
Tessa Homan
she/her
Tessa is a recent graduate from University of Washington, where she majored in Cinema & Media Studies and Linguistics. In the past, she has worked on student films in a variety of different crew positions, including two shorts that she wrote and directed herself. She is excited to join the Hidden Violets team and hopes to continue working on queer-centered projects in the future.
Production Assistant
Gurjot Kang
she/her
Gurjot is excited to help out on the Hidden Violets film as a PA. She's very excited to be a part of a project that aims to show positive and healthy examples of queer, especially sapphic representation on screen! In the past, she's worked for her college's newspaper and MediaLab organization for a couple years. She's a recent graduate from Pacific Lutheran University, double majoring in Film and Media Studies (Communication) and Politics and Government. The last project she worked on was a short documentary on hate crimes against the Sikh American community since 9/11 and the activists/organizations taking a stand, titled "A Faith Misrepresented: Sikhs in America." She's excited to work on more projects and create art that sheds light on the social issues she cares so deeply about, such as South Asian and queer representation, womxn's rights, and environmental justice.
